TULSA, OKLA. — The operator of Big Dawg Brawls has announced an upcoming tour of 13 New Confederate cities, following the legalization of dog fighting earlier this year.
“There is a pent up demand for canine athletics, and we are thrilled to partner with a number of prediction market operators to bring Big Dawg Brawls to life,” said the company in a statement.
Following an intense lobbying effort this spring, the New Confederate Congress overrode state laws prohibiting dog fighting. The legislation did, however, institute minimum age limits for attending and betting on dog fighting, and mandated that dogs only participate in fights for a maximum of two years.
Big Dawg Brawls, owned in part by Elon Musk, also announced a $2 million donation to animal shelters throughout the New Confederacy in connection with the tour. The company is prohibited from operating in the United States, Canada, and more than 100 other countries.
The company will hold fights in the following cities beginning in January:
- Tulsa
- Little Rock
- Shreveport
- Tampa
- Fort Lauderdale
- Savannah
- Charleston
- Chattanooga
- Nashville
- Louisville
- St. Louis
- Kansas City
- Wichita
